Black in the Gorge invites you to Juneteenth at Jackson Park. This is the 4th annual celebration and features food, a BIPOC artisan marketplace, a traditional cake walk, kids activities, face painting for all ages, raffle prizes and new merch for Black in the Gorge. Come dance and sing! Artists performing include Eldon T. Jones, Portland’s famous saxophonist, along with Portland’s queen of soul, Larhonda Steele and her incredible band, a presentation by Arturo Leyva, B.I.G. members Marie-Louise and Eva, Red Elk Spirit Drum, and the Gorge Freedom Choir led by Tim Mayer.

Join the Freedom Choir!
The Freedom Choir is open to all to participate. There are two rehearsals happening from 5:30-7 pm on June 15 and June 17 at Riverside UCC (State St and 4th in Hood River). The performance will be at 4 pm on the 19th. If. you’d like to participate, please come to the June 15 and June 17 rehearsals.
